"I
thought as I was watching, 'well, if this is what it's like
to be 100 years old (or 95 or whatever), then I DO want
to live that long.'"

"In
a world where we too frequently encounter negative images
of aging, come book and film abundant with elders who, through
love of and work with their particular craft, embody Browning's
oft-quoted grow old with me the best is yet to be. In film,
photography and oral history, Amy Gorman and Greg Young
have captured the creative spirit of these remarkable Bay
Area women."

"What
surprised me was the degree to which I appreciated and could
identify with the stories of the women other than my mother.
...each lady demostrated remarkable courage."

"It
is a truly wonderful, moving piece. It seems to somehow
have healing qualities for people of all ages."

"This
wonderful film captures the love of life, humor and self-acceptance
that can come with age. When younger people start asking
questions about what kind of old people they want to be,
answers about how to get there appear. This is an important
message."

I
saw "Still Kicking" with Frances and think it's
just great. Although I always love your work and had every
confidence that this one would work out well, it went way
beyond expectations. You have a remarkable eye and you tune
into the most poignant moments of the interviews.

"Still Kicking" last night with my friend, Mari,
and son, Nico. Both thought it was very good, often truly
moving. The added section, Grace's Song, I thought was extremely
well done. It's lovely to see the musicians, who are so
"into it." The juxtaposition of Grace's movements, the music
and the photos was brilliant. I loved the impressionistic
look of it. And you used the photos so well with the lyrics...Mari,
who knows and loves Grace, was in tears over it. Thank you
for adding this part. It was a tremendous gift to me!
